Weekend recap

Happy Monday, and I hope that everyone had a terrific weekend.

I can honestly say mine was pretty uneventful. I won't say relaxing cause I don't feel relaxed at all, even now. On Saturday we ran around a little bit. Typical weekend stuff, the grocery store, the bank, Brian's parents house, and then back home. I cleaned on Saturday, and baked a little. I love cooking and baking. I wish I could do it more and under different circumstances. Having a toddler pull at you makes it just a smidge stressful. She has started to help, but for her to do that it requires a little more planning on my part.

Sunday was spent lounging around the house, and more cleaning. I did finish up my gallery wall. I love how it turned out, and there is still room to grow. The "K" really completes it right!?

Oh on Sunday I did clean out my car. I even had help. Isn't she the sweetest. She always wants to be my helper, and that is a quality I hope never goes away. However.......

I do hope that this quality goes away. This was not her finest moment. We spent ten minutes picking these goldfish up, while singing the clean up song. Why is it that this song motivates my child to clean up? I guess I shouldn't question it and just be grateful.

We did manage to go out in the evening, but that was just a quick run to the store to grab a couple of items that we missed on Saturday. One of which was another case of Guinness Blonde. They are so good, and I felt like I needed to be rewarded. During this car trip the little one fell asleep. She is so peaceful when she is sleeping.

Well we are ready for another week. Averie is on Spring Break and Brian and I are into another work week. That means we are onto Meal Plan #2. I am really enjoying this part of my weekend. It takes a lot of thinking off my plate during the week.

One Week Meal Plan:

Monday - Pesto Chicken with Zucchini
Wednesday - Hamburgers
Thursday - Caprese Lasagna Roll-ups
Friday - Pizza on Homemade dough

Lunch Success

I am so proud of myself. I am really staying committed to this lunch and parking goal. I am making a lunch at least 3-4 days a week and parking in a garage that charges only $6 a day. That is an improvement from the $10 a day I was paying.

I started the day off with my normal cup of coffee. Then went and grabbed a little Friday treat. A egg, cheese, and hash brown burrito.  It was so good. I crave these burritos every week. Did I mention that they are not small and they are only $2.69!

Lunch was my turkey, and Havarti wrap with a grapefruit sparking water.

After lunch me and some friends from work went for a little walk.  It is so nice getting outside late in the day. Being cooped up in my building is boring. Oh, and it was an excuse to wear my new sunnies.

Here is dinner. Homemade pizza dough. This is just cheese pizza. That is Averie and my favorite. I am having a hard time finding lactose free cheese. If anyone has any recommendations please comment.  Averie seems to be adjusting really well to the probiotic and lactose free milk.

The weekend had a lot in store. So much that it deserves it's own post. Well talk to you all tomorrow.

What a weekend!

Good Morning, I am having a hard time trying to figure out where to even start. How do I explain the whirlwind that was the last 4 days. I guess a day to day breakdown makes the most sense. If anything it will help me keeps my thoughts together.

Thursday, we had Averie's ENT appointment. Quickly let me explain something about UC Davis. They do things differently and if you are coming from another Medical Group you won't be familiar with their system. I made a hearing appointment for Thursday at 11:45am. I thought this was a hearing/ENT appointment. It was only the hearing exam. We were not scheduled to meet with a doctor on this day. With her old medical group it was all one appointment. In a panic I begged to meet with an ENT doctor. I knew Averie had an ear infection and needed to be seen. They fit us in thank goodness. Not only did I get a prescription for ear drops for her ear infection, but we scheduled her Auditory Brainstem Response test (ABR), sedated hearing exam, and tube replacement. It was a very productive trip. I am so glad that they were able to fit her in. Finally after months of being stuck we are moving forward. After Averie's appointment we headed out of town, to San Diego.

Friday, we spent most of the day at the field the weather was insane. Super hot and sunny out. The games weren't all that great. I mostly chased Averie around the field.

Saturday, was a lot of the same stuff. Hot weather, and softball. We did go to the beach on Saturday which was a lot of fun. I wish we could have stayed at the beach instead of watching softball. Next time we will have to make sure that we go to San Diego to spend the weekend doing fun stuff. NO Softball!

Then to the field to watch San Jose State play. We drank Icee's and lots of water. We even made a stop at Dairy Queen during the game break.

This was a terrible trip for food. It's funny cause I love taking pictures of food. Any food not just mine. The hubby is not so keen on me doing that. He gets embarrassed and prefers that I not snap shots while I am with him. So no pictures.

Sunday we headed back home. I have a lot of packing to do. Oh laundry, and cleaning. I am getting there slowly. I have one day of work and then I am off to North Carolina to see my other half. I am so excited and nervous. Flying makes me nervous, but seeing her makes me happy. I have the iPad charging, and my shoes all packed. I have a lot more to do when I get home tonight. More cleaning and more laundry.

Time to make more lists. That is what I do, even if I dont use them. *Smiles*

Let the games begin/Weekend snapshots

Good Morning, it is Monday and I am back at work. I guess you can't say I am working too hard cause here I am posting.

Day light savings has hit, and I am adjusting slowly. It is really nice that it is lighter later at night, but in the morning it is a struggle to get up and going when it is so dark outside. Once it warms up it won't be so difficult. Until then I guess I will struggle. Monday's are rough.

Let's wrap up the weekends events, and share a little bit of what is coming up. Saturday, I cleaned and Sunday I cleaned. Hmm... that wasn't hard. I guess I didn't do much. I did do some packing and organizing for the upcoming trips. Yes, I said trips. I am leaving for North Carolina in 8 days, but the weekend before I leave for NC. Yes, this weekend. Brian, Averie and I are going to San Diego for some softball. I can't complain too much cause we have not really traveled much to watch San Jose State play. I am going to be wiped out on Monday though. Talk about a busy girl. I have mentioned before that I like being busy, so I am not complaining too much. It's a good test to make sure that I don't forget to pack anything for NC. Here is my packing list so far for NC. I know this might seem strange, but I really don't want to forget anything.

Tricia's Packing List

Pajamas's-7
Pants- 7 (Let me explain, I only wear my pants once and then wash them. I know judge away, but I feel dirty if I wear them more than once.)
Blouses (StitchFix, and Gap, see this post)- 4
Shirts - 3
Sweaters- 4
Black Dress
White Tanks- 4
Coat
Scarf
Socks
Shoes - Brown Boots, Black pumps, and Uggs! (Wearing Uggs on the plane)
Panties (Obvious)
Flat Iron/Blow Dryer
Toiletries
Jewelry
Phone charger

Carry On: Purse and bag with laptop/iPad

Suggestions? I keep asking but I don't know that there is anyone out there reading. Is there something that I am missing. HELP?!

Now that my plea for help is out of the way. Whew! Let's talk about how I did not track what I ate this weekend. Why? you ask. Cause I ate horrible and was avoiding documenting evidence. I did try something new this weekend, and it was so good! Averie even ate it, and she never eats Mac and Cheese. I was at Raley's the other day and this was on sale. I normally buy the Annie's and thought I would give this one a whirl. It was so good. I definitely recommend trying it if you are lazy like me and make boxed mac ans cheese.

Horizon Organic Macaroni & Mild Cheddar Cheese, 6 Oz (Pack of 12)

What else happened this weekend that won't put my 5 readers to sleep on this slow Monday morning. It is slow isn't it. I mean it is only 8:12am here. Man I am in for a long day.

Okay so I guess I should stop diddle daddling and purge some pictures from the weekend.

There was some of this....

and a lot of this.....

Lots of these... (that is blueberry drool!)

Then some of this....

We played a lot this weekend. See you all tomorrow. Hopefully with a thought out, organized post.

Weekend Whirlwind

What a weekend. It was a long weekend for me. I had Friday off. I love having a three day weekend every other week. I love having one more full day with my little girl. It is the best. THE BEST!

Friday Averie and I went to this place called Climbaroo. It is the ultimate jungle gym for kiddo's. Look at this place! It's amazing and Averie just loves it. It's a great place for her to be social and work off all that energy she has. It is so much fun watching her interact with other kids.

After Climbaroo we headed home. I did a lot of cleaning this weekend. I usually clean all weekend long, but it is nice to start on Friday and take some time on Sunday to relax.

Saturday, Brian, Averie and I spent the day together running around. We buy Girl Scout cookies every year from a friend of ours, so we drove to pick up our cookie order from her. While we were in the neighborhood we also went to Carter's to buy Averie some clothes. She is swimming a lot during the week so a new bathing suit was in order. From there we headed home. On the way home we made one more little pit stop. LUNCH! Our favorite place Zia's Deli. I am in love with their Lucca sandwich. It is a sourdough roll with turkey, prosciutto, lettuce, tomato, and monterey jack cheese. It is so delicious. The picture below does not do it justice.

I want another one now that I am talking about it. One draw back of this place is that it is a little pricey, but you can not beat the quality of the food you are getting. It is totally worth the $7-$8 bucks. Brian gets the Toscana, it has salami, provolone, peppers and oil/vinegar. It is delicious too. That was pretty much Saturday. I think we made a trip to Walmart later in the evening, but that is not very exciting, just expensive.

Sunday, I stayed home and cleaned, and played with Averie. It was a good day over all. Short and sweet. Then Sunday evening happened.

Here is what happened......

Brian and I were sleeping soundly, when the doorbell rang. Brian immediately thought it was Grammy, assuming that it was around 7am. I got up to unlock the door and let her in. The problem with that is that it was not Grammy. It was a teenager coming to tell me that my garage door was open. I thanked him and closed the door and walked to the garage to close that door. I walked back to the bedroom with a very unsettled feeling. I looked at the clock and noticed it was 12:30am. That did it. I was not able to sleep a wink at this point. Something wasn't right. I thought it was so strange, but nice of him to tell me. What I didn't understand, was why was he walking around the neighborhood at this time of night. I eventually got back to sleep, but didn't sleep well. I slept maybe an hour in total. My alarm went off and I got up and started getting ready for work. Super tired and drained. Grammy walked in the door as I was about to leave, and mentioned that Brian's tires were all flat. What?! Sure enough we both walked outside and the tires were all flat. They slashed all four. I immediately thought I should check on my car. Sure enough, they cleaned out my  glove box, and console. I don't keep a lot in my car, so there was nothing taken that I couldn't replace. I decided to stay home so that I could help with the recovery of this situation. Police report, replacing tires, catching up on the sleep I missed. I knew I would not be able to sleep that night for fear that they would come back so I worked in a nap during the day. Much needed I might add. What an eventful Monday right. I still can't believe that all happened. Now it is Tuesday and Brian and I are looking for land. I think we are ready to move out of the suburbs. We don't think we will ever escape crime, but we would like to make our lives easier. Maybe moving to the country will help.

Alrighty I am signing off. Talk to you all tomorrow.

Weekend Fun

Let's wrap this weekend up.

Friday was a really good day. We will begin with what I ate. I drank lots of water, then made a couple of pieces of toast with peanut butter for breakfast. I was only able to get through one piece it was so dry. For lunch I had a bag of sun chips and a delicious salad. Instead of drinking more water I mixed it up a little. I had a cup of green tea. Not pictured is dinner, I made filet mignon, baked potatoes, green beans, and battered shrimp. I was trying to have a little date night dinner at home. It went over very well. Brian ranted about how good the steak was. I used this recipe if any of you want to try it. Yes I need a recipe for steak.
http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/steakhouse-steaks-recipe.html

Other Friday news, my saint of a father, did Brian and I a huge favor and watched Averie all day so Brian could finish his car. Talk about a life saver. Averie had a great time with him too. I love it when she spends time with my family. It's so nice to see the connection that they make with her, and her with them.

Saturday, man Saturday was stressful. We went looking at houses. Which is so overwhelming for me, the idea of moving, packing, and unpacking is too much to handle right now. I just can't fathom moving again. I just don't want to do it. Ugh! After browsing houses all day, we went back over to my parents to swim. I love swimming, if we had a pool it would get a ton of use, and I would have a killer tan. Dinner was so good, and my dad bought, what is proving to be my favorite brand of beer, Sam Adams. I think I drank 5 of them. Oops!

Here is a fun one. Averie has not been as acclimated to the pool this year. Lesson for next year, put Averie in swim lessons at the beginning of the summer. Yep, that's my girl just chillin in the pool. There was a little bit of crying to get her in the pool. After about 10 minutes she calmed down and just hung out on the lounger.

Let's see where am I? Sunday. I did nothing. I mean I did something but not note worthy. I cleaned, which I do all the time, so that is not really new. I went to the grocery store. That is always daunting and fun at the same time. Does anyone else feel like this. I love going to the store. I love the shopping and seeing all the possibilities. I dislike getting home and having to drag it all in the house and put it away. But, if someone volunteers to help me, I immediately turn them down. Why you ask? Cause I have a certain way I like things, and if someone helps that doesn't know or care, I have to redo everything they have done. making my job 5x harder. Not worth the help if you ask me. I am probably crazy, and have some sort of weird disorder, but that's the way things are. C'est la vie.

Here is Brian and Averie sharing brownies last night after dinner, aren't they the cutest.

Here we are at Monday. I have short week. I work Monday-Wednesday. I have a class on Thursday, and then Friday I am off. I love having every other Friday off. It's a life saver.

This morning started off with a delicious cup of yogurt and chai seeds, and a cup of coffee. Can't live without coffee.

I guess that is enough excitement for today. Oh, workouts. I did not run this weekend. I did do a 30 minute pilates work out yesterday. That felt great. I will probably run today after dinner. I have been wondering, what is the optimal amount of time to wait after you eat to do exercise?

Talk to you all later.

*Garage Sale*

I have decided to have a Garage Sale this Saturday. Just one day of purging. I am hoping to get rid of a lot of stuff that is just cluttering up my life. Old Prom dresses, bridesmaid dresses, stuffed animals, and other odds and ends. I think that it is time. Maybe this is a metaphor for my life right now. I have to DE-clutter!

I think I am on my own for the actual sale. Brian will be working, Anessa wants me to sell her stuff but wants to do her own thing. Which, honestly I don't care if she is there or not. I asked my Mom and she is busy. Her new job has really kept her busy. I would be lying if I said I didn't miss the time we had together carpooling. I have been missing her a lot lately. Averie and I are going to do the whole Garage Sale on our own. We can totally do it too. I am going to put the signs up the night before, and separate the goods in tubs the night before. Let's see how organized I can get.

This past weekend the Softball team hosted it annual BBQ dinner, and I was one of the organizers, and that was super stressful. Hopefully by taking on a Garage Sale I am not setting myself up for more stress. I do have a tenancy to do too much sometimes. The plan, cause there has to be one.

1. Signs
2. Tables
3. Price items
4. Make signs for big items.

I think that is it. Am I missing something? I am really hoping that Nessa will come through and purge a ton. She can't take everything that she has to college. She has too much stuff.

Key items to sell:
1. Prom Dresses/Bridesmaid dress.
2. Car Seat
3. Luggage
4. Walker/Exersaucer
5. Toy chest

And I am sure that I have a few more big items, but I will have to go through the shed later and see what Needs to GO!

Any plans for the WEEKEND?

This weekend is going to be busy, but aren't they all. It is Friday, and I really think today is going to be great. It is the end of the work week, and the start of the weekend. I have friends coming over tomorrow, I plan on visiting the Farmer's Market Saturday morning, and taking my munchkin to My Gym. Love that place! Sunday will be full of shopping. Averie and I are going to make a trip to Target (my fav store), and maybe Toys 'r us. I think she needs a new toy, don't you? This weekend is the start of Travel ball season for Nessa and Brian, which means lots of traveling (Translation: Driving!!). I am staying home for this one, if that's not already obvious. I just cant do the 7 hour drive there and back. Strike Force is the name of the team she is on this season and they are based out of Huntington Beach. Unfortunately because they are from SoCal they get later games on Sunday. The tournament directors figure that giving the NorCal teams the early games makes more sense, and it does. We just had to complicate things for ourselves that's all. Which is totally out of the norm for us *hysterically laughing*. Brian is dreading the 5:00pm game that they have on Sunday. With the game being late in the day, they probably wont get back until 1:00am. I can't possibly get home at that time and make it to work the next day. Not realistic at all for me, or Averie. Averie has been fighting something these last couple of weeks, and I don't want to travel with her all runny nosed.

Now for the fun part, the photo purge. I am cleaning out the ole' Camera Roll on my IPHONE.

From the top right, Brian and Anessa eating a rack of ribs each, my new fav yogurt, traffic on Wednesday (sucked), Love me some Izze's, New Necklace that I wore to dinner in Napa, "Gelato makes you smarter (enough said), My parents, the best parents ever, Wine tasting, The weather for this weekend, bare down y'all, My splurge for Averie, Daddy and his mini me, The best new cheap snack! Wheew! I think that's it. Well I will do my best to take lots of pictures this weekend, and report back.

Weekend Wrap-up, and a whole bunch of other stuff.....

Here is the weekend in a nutshell. Jamba for Breakfast in the morning right before taking Averie to my Mom's. Then Anessa, Brian, and I went to San Jose to watch the Softball team play New Mexico. They sweeped the series, all three games, BEAT! Tada! On the way home we stopped at Ghiradeli. Delish! Sunday, Averie, Anessa and I went shopping. The norm, Target, Safeway, and Michael's. This whole week has been about being organized, I have been writing lists for myself daily and really sticking to them. So proud, so proud.

This week, Nessa's team made playoffs. Exciting right. We just finished designing the playoff t-shirts. They are going to look amazing. Good luck girls. I am doing everything in my power to pump them up. They need the mental power if they are going to win. This is last years win. Yep the goofy looking one is mine.

Today is Thursday, MY FRIDAY BABY! I have a very long day tomorrow. Averie has to get her blood drawn, thyroid check. Then I have to go to Target and get my Mom's Mother's Day gift. I actually know what I want to get her this year. Amazeballs. Then I have to grab 2 cards. Easy peasy. Then I have to go all the way out to Arden to pick up my Race packet. I hate that mall. I wish they would just send them in the mail. Geesh.

Today the plan is to hit up the Farmer's Market in front of the Capital and then maybe sneak in a trip to Hallmark later. We will see. This weekend should be pretty laid back, being Mother's Day and all. Again we will see I hate the waiting game. Ugh! Well here are a could of foodie photos from my week. I tried a new wine a couple of days ago and it was really good. St Supery Sauvignon Blanc. Yummy. Amber turned me onto a new yogurt. I added Mango passion fruit granola too it and it was so tasty.

See ya tomorrow. When the chaos begins......
