Friday's post on Tuesday

Better late then never. I have been on hiatus for sure. It has been so busy. Lots of birthday's this month.

Today is Anessa's birthday, She is a year older but not a year wiser. Man I hope that she is not stuck as a teenager forever. That would be tragic. One more year and she is outta here. I love her dearly don't get me wrong. But I would be looking forward for any teenager to move out. They are so annoying. Point and case. Last night Nessa comes into the living room and moons Brian and I. Not a normal moon, she opens her but cheeks and says she just pooped. I was beside myself. I had only one reaction and that was to be pissed and disgusted. I left the room. Did I really marry into that. Averie will NOT do things like that. I mean, can you be a little bit modest. Come on. That was just ridiculous and crude. I am thinking about it now and can't believe that I live in the same house as that person. A part of me wishes I lived in the 50's, notice I said a part of me. I just want that lady likeness back. That daintiness that women would strive for. It would be refreshing since it is something that does not go on in my house obviously. As you can see anyone in my shoes would be more than happy for the day where she moves out. I will visit, and watch her games, but I think that will be enough for me. I know that Brian is going to really miss her. Oh my goodness what will my house be like. He will not have someone to joke with. Oh snap...this might be better then I thought.

This past weekend was my Grandpa's birthday, and my brothers girl friends birthday. Like I said lot's of birthday's. They are all over now, thank goodness. Talk about going broke. My Grandmother's birthday was this month too. I got her gift late and gave it to her yesterday, and boy did I like seeing the smile on her face. It was just some clothes, but she was surprised and that was awesome. I think that I am birthday free for a little bit. Except for my own birthday in June. The big 3-0.

We thought it would be nice to make people guess his age.

I hung out at my parents this past weekend, while Brian and Anessa were in Huntington Beach for softball. I would have liked to have gone to the beach, but I got to go shopping with the folks which is fun too. We went to Walmart, Sprouts, Target, and Safeway. That's a lot of shopping right. I got just a couple of things from each. No going overboard here. I am trying to save a little you know. I let the boo boo play in her new swimming pool, we drake sangria and watched home improvement shows. I love hanging out there. Sunday we had a big Sunday breakfast, and a BBQ later for the birthday people. There is the weekend tied up in a bow.

Just pondering....

Thursday is Amber/Tricia day. I have so much planned. I hope that we are able to get to it all. I am looking forward to some girl time. I really MISS her. I do wish she would move closer, especially now that they are trying to have a baby. I want to be there for that. I will take what I can get. It is hard for me to travel there, so when she comes down I like to make sure she has my full attention. Oh and she will this Thursday. So excited. I have the best Wordless Wednesday photo ever. I can not wait for tomorrow and then Thursday I have off. Man this is the week that dreams are made of.

Going to the GAME!

Today is game day.

That's right, I have the Sheldon gear on, Averie's gear is on her dresser, the chicken is in the Crock pot for later, and the blankets are in my car. We are ready to go softball watching.

Last night when I got home, I had the opportunity to run, prep dinner, and get a little bit of cleaning done, this is all thanks to Grammy. She hung out for a bit while I tied up some loose ends. In turn, I was very organized this morning when I left for work. Day's like these are the ones I look forward to. I am very excited for the game later, and dinner.

This weekend is creeping up on me slowly. I could stand for it to come a little faster. Brian and Anessa are leaving on Saturday for LA. It is the first practice for the new Strike Force travel ball team. They are going to have a good time. While they are at the beach, playing and watching softball, and eating delicious food. I will be here, well actually I will be at my parents. Averie and I retreat to their house when the rest of the family is gone. Hopefully the hot weather holds up and we can go swimming. I had a beef with the weatherman yesterday. Yep that says 93 degrees on my car. I am thinking that me and him need to have a talk. 7 degrees is a lot. Especially when I dress based on the temperature.

Tomorrow is going to be a fun post. I have taken a ton of photos this week and plan on purging them all tomorrow. I still have to get my Nikon fixed, so I have been taking all my photos with my phone. I think I am a pretty good IPHONE photographer. *giggles*

Well I might post again tonight. I know that every one is sitting on pins and needles for this game later. Oh Tuesday's game. I almost forgot. Sheldon won 4-0. That was a huge win for us. We are that much closer to clinching a playoff spot. We have to win today, and we are in. I guess it would have helped if I explained why I am so excited for this game. I just assumed you all could read my mind. Wait you can't? *smiles*

Here is a brief update on my running too. It was really hot yesterday, but I did run. I might actually consider waking up early in the morning to run from now on. I know that sounds crazy, but the weather might be making this decision for me.

It is moments like these, that melt my heart, and take my breath away.

I can't believe I overslept!

I woke up this morning expecting to look at the clock and it be 6am, usually I wake up a little before my alarm and snooze a few more minutes before having to roll out of bed. Oh no not this time, it was 6:45am, oh crap! I normally wake up at 6:20am, that usually gives me enough time to do everything that I need to do before I leave at 6:45am. That's right LEAVE at 6:45am. I panicked, crammed as much as I could into my bag and headed out the door. Forgot to put deodorant on, pack a lunch, or clean up the mess from the night before. Let's just say that this morning is going to be long. It is game day on top of everything else. Sheldon plays PG, so everyone is intense and psyched. Oh and it is Alumni day. Could we possibly cram more into one day. I mean, come on. I am so overwhelmed.

Resolution to all of this. I don't have to make dinner. It is Alumni day, so we are having a BBQ. Crisis averted there. I can go home after work and change into my Sheldon gear, because it is Tuesday and I don't have to rush to get to the game on Tuesday's. Thank goodness. I borrowed my moms deodorant. *laughs* I am going to have to grab something to eat on my break. I was trying not to spend money, but I guess this is just the effects of running late. I left Grammy with a ton of stuff to clean. Sorry Grammy. I love you to bunches. So as you can see it is pretty much covered. I think I might be able to take a deep breath. Onto some exciting things.

I wanted to talk about some plans that I am looking forward to this summer. It is going to be a busy one. I can't oversleep through this for sure.

1. Getting a little bit of healthy color. Wear sunscreen folks.

2. Camping at Brighton Beach with the Kaylor Family.

3. Kerin's (my aunt) 50th birthday at Disneyland. Just us girls are going, we are going to have so much fun, I can't wait.

4. Softball!!!! Lot's and Lot's of softball.

5. Averie talking, she is so close. I think this summer is going to be a great turning point for her. We have to get out of the couple of word rut sometime. Her signing it on point though.

6. Swimming, and BBQ's with family. This is one of my Favorite pastimes.

7. My 30th birthday, that we might spend is San Diego, one of my favorite cities ever!

8. The start of Nessa's Senior year, and the beginning of the end of her living in my house.

9. Averie growing up into such a big girl. Teaching her how to swim this summer! Feeding her fresh veggies, from my garden too!

10.  Lastly, lots of good food, friends, and family. The very best part about summer is making memories with the ones I love most.

Finally, I did go on a run yesterday after days of slacking. I was pretty irritated when I left so it was a short run, but at least I ran. I exerted way to much energy way too early so that resulted in a 3/4 mile run.

Play by Play

One of the best weekends in a while. I love it when the weekends are packed full of fun stuff. Saturday was spent at Luke's game, a trip to Trader Joe's, and then home for some gardening and cleaning. The plan was to go to the Farmer's Market Saturday morning, but..... Averie decided to stay up until 3am so she did not wake until 9:30am. I have no idea what she was thinking, but Mama got some much needed rest, while Dad stayed up with her. Thank Goodness.

Sunday, oh Sunday. Luke stayed the night, and Nessa went to a friends house. We swapped kids. I love having Luke over. He is so good with Averie. They play and wear each other out. My FAVORITE. The morning started with a relaxing trip to the backyard to water my new plants. Then I  convinced Brian to go to the Farmer's Market downtown. He is so funny, he is not the type of guy that kicks and screams when we go to these kind of places, he rather enjoys them actually. Sorry honey, I let the cat out of the bag. So, the farmers market, the best farmers market to date. I was shocked how many vendors there were. We are talking, meat, cheese, olive oil, wine, fruits and veggies, plants, and flowers. I was shocked how much there was to look at, my eyes could not process fast enough. I am ready to go back next weekend already. After the market we headed to Elk Grove park to drop off Nessa some food. She had a busy morning umpiring, so we knew that she would be hungry and thirsty. What nice parents we are, right? Then back to the grind. Off to Fresh and Easy, our go to place to buy meat. I think after going to the Farmer's Market, Trader Joe's, and Fresh and Easy we should be good at least for a couple of weeks on food. You would think.

I did enter into another realm of motherhood this weekend. Some might say that it is a right of passage. I bought and roasted a whole chicken for the first time, and I would call it a total success. I thought it would be much harder than it was. It was super yummy as well. We easily have dinner for 2 maybe 3 nights. Did I mention that I had a great weekend. I am even more excited for next weekend and week. Next weekend Brian and Nessa are going to LA and I am going to have some serious Averie and Mommy one on one, then the following week Amber is coming HOME! We are going to spend Thursday doing whatever we want. I am sure that there is going to be some shopping involved. Oh man there is so much going on and to talk about, it all would take forever to write it all down. As you can see, and read I am trying.

Last thought. How much I love this little girl.

Let the DAY begin....

We are off, the day is going to be jam packed with all sorts of fun!! First off Averie slept until 9am. However Dad was up with her until 3am {while I slept}. That's how it should be right?! I made breakfast and missed the farmers market *sad face*. Oh well next weekend. Brian and Anessa will be in LA next weekend so it's party time for me and the boo boo!

Right now we are on our way to Brian's nephews little league game. Then we are headed to grandmas to hang for a bit and then back home for some gardening. Brian and Luke (his nephew) are going to make me a garden box for all my pretty veggies. I am so excited. I attempted to plant seeds in March and none of them sprouted. No worries though I understand that I don't have a green thumb. I will just buy Pre sprouted veggies. I got this!!

Oh we are going to Traders too. Trader Joes that is. I love this place and we do not go there often enough. I really love grocery shopping, and shopping at Traders just makes that passion stronger.

Can you believe the day we have ahead of us, and it is only Saturday. I do plan on running today and doing some meal planning for the week. I love the WEEKEND! Here are a couple of teaser photos. Sorry for the quality. My Nikon is not working. Boo hoo.

April 19, 2013

Oh it is so EARLY.

This morning happened like every other morning. The alarm went off at 6:30am, I rolled around in bed for a bit, and then rolled out. Brushed my teeth, my hair, and carelessly threw some clothes on. I am not very enthusiastic in the mornings, especially to go to work. Not because I don't like my job but because I have to spend the day away from my family. How could anyone look forward to that. I drove to pick up my Mom, and off we went to work. As soon as we enter the freeway we are committed. There is no turning back. Insert "Ugh". I arrive at work and the rest is basically history. I do a version of the same thing every day. Is today different, no not really. But unlike any other day of the week. It is FRIDAY!!!!

Stay Juiced!!!!

Let's see here, what are the weekend plans? Possibly a trip to San Jose to watch the softball team play a double header. Go Spartans!

Maybe a run or two. Definitely one. The last time I ran was on Tuesday, and I ran 3.5 miles. Props for me.

Dinner prep for the week, and some cleaning is in my future. Always, every weekend.

Cleaning the backyard so my "boo boo" can play freely.

Grammy planted some tomatoes, and zucchini for me so I have to tend to that. She really takes care of me I love her.

My best friend is in New York for a couple of days, so I will probably bug her a couple of times. She has been working on her outfit for weeks. She is going to a Sweet Sixteen on Saturday so she had to look STELLAR! I might post a picture of her outfit, if she will let me.

I think that is about the gist of what this weekend should look like. A couple of things that I am doing. I am linking up with A Sorta Fairytale for Mama Memoirs. I am going to make some updates to my blog page. Like, I don't know make the links to Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and email work. Probably should have done that a while ago, but what can you do.

Mommy Memoirs: My Baby Girl

It has been a long week, and it is probably clear by the number of posts this week how busy I have been. It seems like I have been go, go, go, with no time for a breather. There are a few things in my life that make these long, obnoxious days easier. One of those is my daughter, Averie. Talk about a little girl that is always happy to see me, and never judges. Her face when I walk in the door is priceless, and gives me the best sense of accomplishment I could ever feel. I know that my challenging day was worth it as long as at the end I can come home to her.

Averie is also a booger, don't get this wrong. She is not without her challenges as well, but for some reason I welcome those challenges willingly. Averie is screaming randomly. Not because she is hurt or wants something {as far as I know at least.}, but because she likes the way it sounds. Maybe? So we are trying to get control of that. Which is difficult, Dad and I are not really on the same page on how to resolve this outburst issue. Second she is climbing on everything. We have kind of just let her do this, on certain things of course. Like the couch, or chair. Obviously we are keeping her off of tables, and cabinets. Oh but she tries. Grammy bought her a potty. This weekend is the start of that. I am not sure how to even begin, so we are going to go very slow. Averie is wearing a patch on her left eye now. We are trying to make the right eye stronger. It tends to be the lazier of the two. Poor baby. I always say that she was destined to have at least one lazy eye. Reason being, I have a lazy eye. I am pretty sure that it is genetic.

See, she is no walk in the park. To me, it just does not matter. She can pull my hair, which she does on occasion. She could climb all over me and pull my clothes. I just don't care. Just as long as I am able to spend as much time with her as possible. I work a full time job and so it eats at me that I have to come home, make and feed her dinner, bath and pj's, and then feed the rest of the family. Trust me I am not complaining. I really don't mind the juggle. I just wish I could keep Averie up until 11pm so I can spend more quality time with her. It is bad enough that I have been letting her stay up until 9pm. I just cannot part with her. The point in all of this, is that I am so lucky to be her Mom and just want to spend every waking moment with her. Maybe someday in the future this will be possible. By then I am sure she will not want to spend them with me.  But here is hoping that she always wants her Mama.

My Monday

Hello there, today is my Monday. Wasn't feeling SUPER yesterday, which means that I should not try and work. In turn I stayed home and did a few things, in this order. Went to the store and got a coffee, (Starbucks of course), grabbed Brian a doughnut, went to CVS to pick up prescription, did a little bit of gardening, went to Toys-R-Us with Grammy and Averie, bought a frame for Brian's Father's Day gift, and prepped dinner. Caprese Lasagna Roll ups. One of our faves. I of course cleaned a little and relaxed a little too. It was a good Monday. Feeling better today for sure.

I had planned on a run yesterday, but got so carried away with all my plans for the day that I ended up skipping it. I am running today to make up for it. I think it has been 4 days since I ran, and I miss it. So not running today is not an option. I wish I could run at work, but my lunch is only 30 minutes.

Let me tell you about our trip to Toys-R-Us. Grammy had a credit, so she thought that she would get us a couple of things, one being a new gate. The one we have currently is not very user friendly. The second thing she got was a potty chair. Oh no! Are we at that point already? Suggestions? Help!! She is two years old, and I would love for her to be potty trained by three. Let the adventure begin!

Softball anyone? Ness has a game today. When doesn't she have a game right! I think today is the first day that I am not in Sheldon gear too. I am a regular work person today. Wearing normal people clothes. That is fun, but oh well. It's my LIFE right. *laughs*

Moving on from softball. The run down. Nessa turns 17 on the 30th of this month. Grammy turned 68 on the 10th. Happy Birthday to both of you! It is amazing how time is flying. Slow down, will ya? I am loving this season of the Voice, and I am still watching Smash. Man oh man am I a musical junkie. Love me some singing.

I am still eating well, and running, as you all know. Brian is working hard. Grammy is being ran down by little Miss Averie. She is a ball of fire these days. Oh and suggestions on how to stop her from screaming would be greatly appreciated. We are bopping her on the mouth, but that does not seem to be working. Maybe we just have not done it long enough. I don't know. What I do know is that in the middle of library time she screams. In the one place where you are supposed to be super quiet. Just my luck right.

Well I think that is it. all caught up. There are a few more things that will be happening this week, but you will just have to come back and read on to know what those are.

April 12, 2013

It's here again

It is here again, the weekend that is. Man how I look forward to them. Although at the same time being so bittersweet. I hate for them to end. My hubby said he was going to try and clean more today, so I am super excited to come home and start the weekend. I love it when he helps. It makes for a good start.

Update on running, it has been sporadic, but it is happening. I have not ran 3 miles since my last race. That's is not to say that I am not able, I am just struggling to find the time. Here are my last two runs since The Running of the Elk on Sunday. My plan is to run again today. I am looking at getting in at least 2.5 miles.

The Huskies won their game against Folsom yesterday 18-1. Nessa hit a GRAND SLAM! It was so much fun to watch. I am glad that I decided to go.

We were all decked out in our Sheldon gear. We are so dorky, but so COOL!!

We also got a sneak peak of Nessa's softball photo's this year. Isn't she pretty. She is such a ham, and very photogenic.

My running has become contagious. One of the other Mother's heard that I was going to run in the Susan G Komen 5K race, and immediately wanted to do it with me. Then she said her daughter would want to run as well. Her daughter is on the softball team. From there it grew. Now we have involved the whole Varsity softball team. Sorry guys. *smiles*

If you want to make a donation to our team, you can find us under "Sheldon Softball Chicks." We ROCK! I know. I am so excited for my second 5K. This is going to be so much fun.

Well, I hope everyone has a great weekend! I know I will.

April 11, 2013

Just another day.

Today is a day like any other. The plan is to work, get off early, go to softball game, and go home and clean and do laundry. I might consider feeding my family. I have no decided yet. I wanted to get a run in today but it is not likely at this moment. Today seems pretty blah. I am in a cubicle at work, YAY! Don't judge, I love my cubicle. *laughs*

Grammy's birthday was yesterday and we went out to dinner. Todo un Poco you didnt disappoint. I love their food, and Margaritas!!!!!!! I still plan on getting Grammy a gift but I am not sure what. I think I might her some new shirts. I can afford that. She does so much for my family that I don't feel like there is anything out there that is special enough for her.

Well, since I am running out of things to talk about. I will do a little photo dump. Lucky you. I warned you.

The Finish Line

I meant to go back to Saturday's post and continue on from there, but that is just way too much work for me this morning. I think I can confidently say that I am not a morning person. I wish I were, and if anyone out there can give me tips on how to be. They are welcome to share.

This is me on race day! Waiting at the 9 minute mile marker. I admit I was being optimistic. I have not managed to run a 9 minute mile yet. I thought that this would be as good a time as ever to push myself.

Plan:
1st Mile - Jog
2nd Mile - Jog
Remaining 1.1 Miles - Pound the Pavement as hard as I can, and I did.

Here are my results. #84, that's me. Not to shabby for my first race!
84 out of 1001 total runners.
31 out of 709 for the women.
7th out of 99 in my age group.

Official Time - Chip time 27.00.93 (new PR)

Splits
Mile 1 - 9.34
Mile 2 - 9.05
Mile 3 - 7.45
Mile .1 - 1.23

The overall race was great. It was 3.16 miles according to my ismoothrun app. They had a Gatorade, and water station at about mile 2. I was so motivated that I didn't stop. Which in retrospect was probably not a good idea, but next time I will make sure to hydrate up. Then at the end of the race they had more water and Gatorade, and fruit and pastries. I didn't grab anything, I was feeling a little nauseous at the end. I am sure that had to do with the fact that I power ran the last mile. I was in my head the whole time, saying you can do this. Your not REALLY tired. *laughs* I think that this race is only the start of more to come. I am so excited to do another. maybe the Zoom Zoom one on the 14th of this month. Hmmm?

Other than this race, I didn't do much the rest of the day. I have compression shortie socks that I threw on. I figured it couldn't help right. Can't wait to get a pair of the pro compression socks. I just can't afford them at this particular moment. I did fit in some cleaning on Sunday as well as a little cooking. Just trying to get ready for the week. It should be another busy one.
April 6, 2013

Race day here I come!

Race day is tomorrow! I have all my gear out and ready to go. I am excited and a little nervous. My mom was nice enough to pick up my packet yesterday with my T-shirt, bib, and final race day instructions. That helps a little with the nerves.

Hopefully it is not hard to muster up the energy to get up an go after the long day I had today. Brian and I went from my work yesterday to Livermore to watch Nessa's HS team play. The plan from there was to go home an get up the next morning and drive back to Livermore. But... Plans change constantly in this family. So the hubs took his expert Priceline skills and put them to work. We stayed in Livermore at the same hotel that the girls were in for 48 bucks. Not to shabby if you ask me. I admit it was nice not having to drive home, but a hotel with a 2 year old and no porta crib is torture. I never get quality sleep without a porta crib. I should just leave it in my car. Lesson learned.

Saturday's game went pretty well. They went 1-2. 1-5 for the whole tournament. Not great, but I think there are big things coming for this team. They just have to start meshing. I am super tired so I will have to fill everyone in on the rest of the days festivities tomorrow. Race day here I come!!!

Where would you go?

Where would you go if you won a $300 Travelocity gift card?

My family and I have not traveled much in the last few years. My Step-daughters softball pretty much takes up all of our time and money. This year we have a bit of a reprieve. She is on a team out of town so we are not as committed as we have been in the past. I think we might even make time for a small vacation, even if it is just to the coast. I love the beach so I would probably take my family to San Diego. We love it there. I would take my husband to a ball game, and take my daughters to Sea World and the Zoo. I know they would have a blast at both. There is a Beach and Bikini Giveaway on This Wont Hurt a Bit's Blog. Check it out.

Friday, and we are OFF again

We are off again this weekend. EAT, SLEEP, BREATHE softball, that is the name of the game people. Brian got home really late last night. I feel like I have not seen him in forever. He is leaving after I get up and doesn't get home until the time I go to sleep. I have missed him to say the least. I was trying really hard last night to stay up to see him so I got  me one of these. You guessed it. STARBUCKS. It was a necessity, I swear. *wink wink*

With this baby in my veins, I was able to finish the laundry, pack, make myself a little something to eat, and play with my boo boo. I had planned on a run, but there was a shooting down the street, so that pretty much ruled out my run. I don't know much about what happened. I do know that I locked all the doors and stayed inside for the rest of the night. I do not even live in a bad neighborhood. I really am baffled by the world we live in these days. I have no explanation as to why these things happen. What are people thinking? Or are they not thinking and that is the culprit.

So instead of running I took 100 pictures of this beauty, okay maybe 10.

I am so lucky for her to be my daughter. I mean everyday I get to look at her gorgeous face.

That brings us to this morning, I was in kind of a rush. Not bad, but enough to keep me on my toes. I had a bunch of stuff to grab, but couldn't because I knew it would wake either the boo boo, or the hubby. So I tried to keep things quiet, and tip toed out. I will have to leave packing Averie's things in the hands of my husband. I have done this once before and it was not awful, but there were things missed. Nobody packs like Mama. the plan is to leave right after I get off of work. He will pick me up and off we will go.

I did acquire a pair of the cutest shoes. Salt Water sandals. I have them in my bag ready to be put on my little ones feet. I bought these and another pair, that were left in my car. *boo boo lip* But they are white with little heart cut outs, they are not the same style. They are a 2 strap sandal. I cannot wait to put her in either pair.

I think that is the rundown of my evening and morning, check back tomorrow for a run update. I have to map a path in Livermore that is roughly 3 miles. Should be a challenge. Hopefully I can get Shelly to run with me. Muah hahaha.
